Two Great Opportunities for quilting fun present themselves in January.

1. Yearly Service Meeting Jan 12

January’s meeting is always our Service Meeting. The CUC becomes a beehive of activity with members layering, tying, and quilting service quilts. It is always a rewarding meeting, knowing that we are making quilts that will bring comfort to those in need.

2. Brownstone Sew Day January 14.

This is when we finish up anything we did not finish on the service day. We also bring our work, which can range from machine piecing, wool work, a T-shirt quilt, hand applique, English paper piecing, embroidery, and knitting. Everyone is eager to share their skills and ideas, and to appreciate what others were doing. Our Workshop committee has a hospitality table  with coffee/tea, home-baked items, and the pizza lunch.

We are spreading our love of quilting in Februarywith 2 activities!
1. Members Teaching Members  was such a hit this year, that we are offering new “classes” and new “teachers” next February.

 Also in February:

 2, Barb Vedder -

Barbara Vedder will be joining us on February 11, 2017 for a combination lecture/workshop. Her lecture, “Scrap Quilts—The Secret to Success” will run from 9;30-10:30AM and is open to all. Members can sit for free and visitors pay $5. It will from 11 am- 3:30 PM. The workshop is closed and a waiting list is in place. It is entitled a "Scrappy Mystery Workshop." Participants will come with the same basic pre-cut fabrics from their own stash. Barb will provide 5 different mystery “themes” for you to pick the day of the workshop. She will provide photo inspirations and quilts of themes and will be on hand to demonstrate and guide each theme. Material list and fabric cutting instructions will be provided upon registration. This workshop is meant to be a fun way to use scraps and design your own piece. The project can be a doll quilt, a runner, or the start of a new quilt. Members are welcome to come to the lecture only (no charge) or to sign up for the lecture/workshop full day.   https://funwithbarbandmary.blogspot.com
