March meeting will feature Barbara Lenox
March 12 at noon and 7:30PM

Barbara is a quilt maker who teaches classic, traditional pieced patterns. She has been making
quilts for over 20 years. Her students credit her detailed handouts and her enthusiastic,
patient teaching technique with their success. She provides the tip, tools and techniques thatmake the seemingly difficult – doable!

Noon Lecture and Trunk Show:
“When You Work with a Plaid, the Plaid Works with You!”
Exploring the use of plaid fabrics, with a little humor tossed in.

“Working with Large‐Scale Fabrics”
What is a large‐scale fabric and how do I know one when I see it?
What are the characteristics of large‐scale fabrics?
What are the types of large‐scale fabrics?
How do I shop for large‐scale fabrics?
How do I use them?

April will feature Gyleen Fitzgerald
April 9 at noon and 7:30PM

Gyleen’s quilts blend color, pattern and texture to provide a contemporary essence to
traditional quilting. She shares her enthusiasm for quilting through interactive lectures and
high energy workshops. Gyleen has a degree in Chemical Engineering, is the author of five
books and has a passion for creating exciting, colorful quilts.

Friday Noon Lecture: “Bits and Pieces”
Explore the finer points of quilt construction. Discussion of design, balance, flatness,
bindings in the art of quilting. Learn the unpublished tricks of the trade.

Friday Evening Lecture: “Quilts: Unfinished Stories with New Endings”
A visual transformation of 1930's through 1950's unfinished tops and blocks to finished quilts with unpredictable endings using fabrics of today.

May will feature Bonnie Browning
May 14 at noon and 7:30PM

Since 1994 Bonnie has been Executive Show Director at the American Quilter's Society (AQS), Paducah, Kentucky, where she also writes and edits quilting books. She is the author of nine quilting books, published by the AQS:

February 2010 - Anna Faustino

Anna Faustino was born and raised in St. Petersburg Russia. While there she earned two
Bachelor Degrees specializing in teaching, art history and culture, painting, engineering,
drawing, and textile art. She has won numerous awards for her innovative quilts and in 2008
published her book, “Simply Stunning Woven Quilts.”

Oct 2009: Jo Diggs - Miniature Landscape Applique

Jo Diggs visited the guild a few years ago and was a big hit so by popular demand we are bringing her back. Jo loves fabric, students, cats, chocolate, her family and quilting. She has created appliqué landscapes for over 30 years and has been teaching for even longer. Jo‘s resume includes a BA in art history from Wellesley College and a master‘s in teaching from Harvard, but at this point in her career she feels that practice and a lifelong interest in art and fiber are what make the real difference. Her work has been featured in publications including American Quilter and Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine.

Sept 2009: Lynn Payette - Crazy Quilting

Lynn, who lives in Connecticut, comes from an art education background and has taught for over 38 years at all levels for EGA, ANG, Calla-way and NAN, among other venues. She has also designed for many needlework companies. She teaches mixed media, crewel, silk and metal, stumpwork, Brazilian, doll making and clothing embellishment.
