Using LOTS of quilts and a Power Point Presentation, I’ll show you the many ways you can machine quilt your completed tops. Feel free to bring tops along for a group or private consultation! Evening Lecture: Many quilters have ideas floating around in our head - quilts we would like to make. This lecture will help you to take your ideas from your head and put them on paper. Whether it's a new block design, small wallhanging, or full bed quilt, I will give you tips and tricks to creating your own designs - the do's and don'ts of designing and how to incorporate a certain fabric into your quilts. We will also discuss where to find color inspiration as well as how to break down the color and value process. I will introduce the concept of line and form in quilts. I will also explain how I design many of my borders. My hope is that this will inspire you to think about how to enhance your quilt with the right border.

September 2010 - Pat Yamin Since 1994 Bonnie has been Executive Show Director at the American Quilter's Society (AQS), Paducah, Kentucky, where she also writes and edits quilting books. She has been making 2 seperate lectures: Anna Faustino was born and raised in St. Petersburg Russia. While there she earned two Lectures and Trunk Show: “Shredded Blocks”. Nov 2009: Meg Cox author of Quilter‘s Catalog Oct 2009: Jo Diggs - Miniature Landscape Applique Jo Diggs visited the guild a few years ago and was a big hit so by popular demand we are bringing her back. Jo loves fabric, students, cats, chocolate, her family and quilting. She has created appliqué landscapes for over 30 years and has been teaching for even longer. Jo‘s resume includes a BA in art history from Wellesley College and a master‘s in teaching from Harvard, but at this point in her career she feels that practice and a lifelong interest in art and fiber are what make the real difference. Her work has been featured in publications including American Quilter and Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine. Sept 2009: Lynn Payette - Crazy Quilting Lynn, who lives in Connecticut, comes from an art education background and has taught for over 38 years at all levels for EGA, ANG, Calla-way and NAN, among other venues. She has also designed for many needlework companies. She teaches mixed media, crewel, silk and metal, stumpwork, Brazilian, doll making and clothing embellishment. |
