Each of our quilt shows offers a quilt to be raffled off, and the sale of the raffle tickets is generally the big- gest fund raiser of our show. Planning for our 2017 raffle quilt began last February with the choice of a pattern and the selection of fabrics. Since we chose an appliqué design, we zeroed in on the appliquers in the guild and gave each one a kit with the pattern, instructions and fabric and asked them to return their blocks by June. Over the summer, the blocks were pieced together and a border design was chosen. We managed to get the borders done and sewn on by the end of October.
The quilt has now been sent to a longarm quilter and we await its return - and then it will be bound! At that stage, we can take its formal portrait and work on having raffle tickets printed. We had a booth at the Quilt And Sewing Fest of New Jersey in Somerset to be held March 2-5, 2017 for the purpose of selling tickets. Booklets will be issued soon. Contact usfor the purchase of raffle tickets..
We would like to acknowledge those who did the work on the quilt, and to thank them on behalf of all the members. Those names are listed in the Newsletter.

Show Preparation: How Can You Help?
We are now less than a year away from our 2017 Quilt Show. Although that sounds like a lot of time, we all know how fast time can fly.
There are two things that every Brownstone member can be doing now:
—make a mini quilt for the mini-auction. This is always a popular part of our show. Show off your best piecing or appliqué skills, and make a small quilt or table runner that some lucky winner will treasure.
—make a quilt, or two, or three, to enter in the show. Here are the categories that will be accepted into the show:
Bed Quilt—Pieced. NO wider than 90” or longer than 108”
Bed Quilt—Appliqued. NO wider than 90” or longer than 108”
